Date: Aug 19, 2015
Word Count: 300 words
Cross-Reference: Polygamy Day, August 19, polygamy activism
On August 19, 2015, unrelated consenting adult polygamy supporters (UCAPs) are celebrating "Polygamy Day 15" – the fifteenth year of annual Polygamy Day ® celebrations.
August 19th of every year is the official date of Polygamy Day ®. Starting in 2001, supporters of unrelated consenting adult polygamy (UCAP) have been celebrating this date each year. Because that first celebration in 2001 occurred in the "Year 1" of the new millennium, each following "Polygamy Day" is identified numerically on up to the current "Polygamy Day 15" of August 19, 2015.
The event first started in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, as an organized get-together for polygamy activists - not religiously connected with Mormon polygamy or Muslim polygamy. The annual celebration transformed into a nationwide, religiously-neutral celebration for all forms of unrelated consenting adult pro-polygamists in their own individual geographic locations.
Polygamy Day ® is promoted by Polygamy Day, Inc. The corporation was formed in 2002 in the State of Maine. Polygamy Day, Inc. filed for the federal trademark on "Polygamy Day 6." Ironically, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially trademarked, Polygamy Day ®, on June 26, 2007 - exactly four years after Lawrence v. Texas and exactly eight years before Obergefell v. Hodges were decided by the Supreme Court
Polygamy Rights supporters individually celebrate each August 19th to reflect on the political and legal progress toward their freedom over the prior year. New or ongoing strategies for the forthcoming year of activism are also contemplated and organized.
Information about Polygamy Day, Inc. plus a general history of Polygamy Day ® are available online at PolygamyDay.com. Specific news from over the previous year leading up to "Polygamy Day 15" appears at

With some major events over the previous year generating real enthusiasm and hope for planning even more activism for the coming year, unrelated consenting adult pro-polygamists throughout America undoubtedly have reason to celebrate on this August 19, 2015 - "Polygamy Day 15," the fifteenth year of celebrations.
