Pro-Polygamists Celebrate 7th Annual "Polygamy Day"

Date: Aug 19, 2007
Word Count: 300 words
Cross-Reference: Polygamy Day, August 19, polygamy activism

On August 19, 2007, pro-polygamists throughout America are celebrating "Polygamy Day 7."

August 19th is the official date of Polygamy Day ®.   Supporters of polygamy rights for consenting-adults have been celebrating this special date each year, ever since the very first "Polygamy Day 1" on August 19, 2001.   Because that original celebration occurred in the "Year 1" of the new millennium, each subsequent "Polygamy Day" is now identified numerically on up to the current "Polygamy Day 7" on August 19, 2007.

In what began as a singular get-together in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, among polygamy rights activists who had no connection to Mormon polygamy or Muslim polygamy whatsoever, the annual celebration has grown into a widespread and religiously-neutral individual celebration among all forms of consenting-adult pro-polygamists.

Activists individually use each August 19th to mark the preceding year’s political and legal events in the advance of freedom for consenting-adult polygamists.   Individual strategies for the next year of polygamy rights activism are also considered and even planned.

Polygamy Day ® is promoted by Polygamy Day, Inc.   The corporation was officially formed in 2002 in the state of Maine.   On "Polygamy Day 6," Polygamy Day, Inc. filed for its federal trademark.   In an unexpected irony, it was on June 26, 2007 - the fourth anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision, Lawrence v. Texas - that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office officially registered the corporation's trademark, Polygamy Day ®.

Information about Polygamy Day, Inc. and a generalized history of Polygamy Day ® are available online at .   Dedicated polygamy rights supporters are able to participate in year-round online discussions with other supporters at .

With political and news events over the previous year continuing to positively advance the march to genuine freedom, consenting-adult pro-polygamists throughout America definitely have many, many reasons to celebrate on this August 19, 2007 -   "Polygamy Day 7."

Tom Green Paroled with "Litmus Test" by National Polygamy Movement
A member of Green's parole board in 2007 used the polygamy movement's 2004 "litmus test" – which called for him to "disappear" - to forewarn him of his parole conditions. If that "polygamy Tim McVeigh" ever goes on TV again, he will prove what a pathological liar he is - and he could be back in prison for life.

NY Times Uses Quote but not Name of National Polygamy Rights Leader
Consistent with the newspaper’s pattern of never reporting on the national polygamy rights movement, a New York Times piece re-quoted a famous sound-bite from the National Polygamy Advocate – unethically citing another magazine who had first quoted him, instead of citing Henkel's actual name.
